Amit Shah's Strategic Push: Elimination of Naxalism by 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah embarks on a crucial three-day visit to Chhattisgarh, aiming to review and enhance anti-Naxal operations. The visit, spanning from February 7 to 9, crystallizes the Centre's target to eradicate Left Wing Extremism by March 2026. Chhattisgarh continues to grapple with significant Naxal violence, particularly in the volatile Bastar region. Consequently, the Home Minister will host a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, local police, and central armed forces to evaluate ongoing operations and inter-agency coordination. This meeting is pivotal for assessing progress towards the government's ambitious target.

Recent years have witnessed a steady decline in Naxal-related violence, attributed to the government's dual strategy of combining aggressive security measures with accelerated development in conflict-prone areas.
