Ethiopian Delegation Explores India's Rural Empowerment Model

An Ethiopian delegation is in India for a week-long study tour to learn from the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), aimed at poverty alleviation and women's economic empowerment, the rural development ministry announced.
The visit is designed to facilitate peer learning about how NRLM, the flagship program, has mobilized over 105 million women into more than 9 million self-help groups (SHGs).
Led by Sintayehu Demissie Admasu of the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, the delegation includes senior officials from various Ethiopian ministries and the World Bank, observing NRLM's implementation across New Delhi, Alwar, and Jaipur. The initiative exemplifies South-South cooperation and aims to apply India's successful strategies in Ethiopia.
