In an innovative attempt to tackle Delhi's persistent pollution woes, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed optimism about the potential success of a cloud seeding exercise in the national capital. This follows a trial conducted earlier over Burari on September 23, which has marked the first foray into such measures in Delhi.

Rekha Gupta communicated the significance of this pioneering initiative, stating the government's ongoing discussions on artificial rain as part of broader pollution control efforts. This experimental approach aims to test if cloud seeding can substantially alleviate the city's pollution challenges, offering a significant breakthrough for Delhi's millions.

Environment Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh supported these efforts, underscoring the government's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge global technology to enhance Delhi's environment. Singh emphasized the usage of the best resources to transform the city into a pristine capital while maintaining a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party for its lack of new agendas.

The latest trial, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, involved deploying a Cessna aircraft equipped with salt-based and silver iodide flares to induce artificial rainfall over several city areas. Despite minor weather-related delays, the test aimed to offer insights into new solutions for Delhi's persistent air quality issues.
