Jalandhar Police Crack Down on Gang-Linked Firearms Trafficking

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have confiscated a total of eight .32 bore pistols, recently seizing six from associates of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. The firearms originated from Madhya Pradesh. In related operations, the Anti-Gangster Task Force captured two suspects connected to a Hoshiarpur shooting incident.

In a significant breakthrough, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have recovered six .32 bore pistols from three suspects allegedly tied to the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. This seizure brings the total number of confiscated firearms in the investigation to eight, highlighting efforts to curb illegal arms distribution.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed that the firearms were sourced from Madhya Pradesh. The accused, namely Mankaran Singh Deol, Simranjit Singh, and Jaiveer Singh, were booked under an FIR at the Rama Mandi police station, as they were reportedly involved in supplying weapons to various criminal organizations.

In a related development, Punjab's Anti-Gangster Task Force, in collaboration with Hoshiarpur Police, apprehended Krishna Gopal and his son Keshav for their alleged involvement in a targeted shooting at a Hoshiarpur jewelry shop. The suspects were found with a .32 caliber pistol and live rounds, following earlier extortion attempts tied to the shooting.
