Unseasonal rains swept across Gujarat on Monday, spurred by a depression in the Arabian Sea, with more showers expected in coming days, meteorological sources reveal.
Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Bhavnagar districts report substantial rainfall, raising alarms for authorities. Rajula taluka in Amreli alone registered an impressive 175 mm of rainfall.
The deluge poses significant risks to agriculture, especially groundnuts, cotton, and paddy nearing harvest. Consequently, state officials have advised farmers on precautionary measures to mitigate crop damage.
