In Hungary, a fire that broke out at the nation's principal oil processing site, the Danube Refinery, has been contained by firefighters. Authorities, along with the Hungarian energy firm MOL, affirmed that no injuries had been reported in the incident.
The fire originated on Monday night within a processing unit located in Százhalombatta, a town south of Budapest. MOL, in a statement on the Budapest Stock Exchange website, indicated that the blaze's cause is under thorough investigation. Emergency protocols were enacted immediately, and undamaged units are being restarted as damage assessments proceed.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in communication with MOL executives and the interior minister, assured citizens on social media that fuel supplies remain secure. The government is also exploring the possibility of utilizing Hungary's strategic reserves if necessary. Continuous air quality monitoring in the vicinity has shown no hazardous levels, ensuring public health safety.
