In a bid to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, the 84th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) spearheaded a significant cleanliness drive along the banks of the Chenab River in Ramban district. This initiative was not only aimed at restoring the natural beauty of the river but also promoting environmental conservation, aligning with the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.

Commandant N Ranbir Singh of the 84th Battalion emphasized the importance of the effort as a tribute to Gandhi's enduring principles of cleanliness and environmental preservation. Singh noted, "On this occasion, we undertook the task of removing plastic and other waste from the river, highlighting our commitment to maintaining its cleanliness and conservation." His remarks were made during an interaction with ANI on Thursday.

Gandhi's philosophies of Satyagraha and non-violence resonate across the globe, especially on October 2nd, celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti in India and the International Day of Non-Violence worldwide. This year underscores the 156th anniversary of his birth, with global leaders reflecting on his teachings to confront contemporary global challenges.
