The Haryana government is taking significant strides to promote farm tourism and homestays as a means to create job opportunities for the youth. This announcement was made following a meeting on Tuesday involving farm tourism and homestay operators.
Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner and Secretary of the Haryana Tourism Department, emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by this sector. Operators discussed their difficulties, which include necessary facilities and inter-departmental approvals.
Agrawal urged operators to formally submit their issues within five days to aid in drafting a comprehensive policy. This new policy aims to streamline operations, and ensure timely service delivery, leveraging insights from other states' successful agro-tourism initiatives.
