Anudeep Katikala, a stand-up comedian from Hyderabad, was granted bail on Friday after being arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan and his family during a stand-up performance.

The arrest, which occurred after Katikala's show in Bengaluru, was linked to a complaint filed at the Kakinada One Town police station. Katikala surrendered to the police after receiving a notice in Prayagraj on April 14. He had traveled there to visit his father, a central government employee.

Katikala was released on bail after posting a surety bond of Rs 10,000. He faces several charges, including violations under Sections 356(2), 353(2), and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
