The Haryana State Commission for Women has issued a summons for Masoom Sharma, a prominent Haryanvi folk singer, following allegations of verbal abuse during a college event in Dehradun earlier this month. This development comes in the wake of a police case being registered in connection with the incident.

According to official records, the incident occurred on April 10 at the college. Sharma has stated that ongoing harassment from individuals claiming criminal affiliations has put his family under considerable pressure, disrupting his mental well-being and leading to the controversial outburst. He expressed remorse, citing stress as the cause, and has formally apologized to the Women's Commission.

Complainant Pranchal Nauni asserts that Sharma's remarks during the event offended attendees, prompting legal action. The Dehradun Police have filed an FIR, including sections addressing obscene acts, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation. Authorities confirm that a detailed investigation is underway to determine appropriate legal measures.
