In Pune, two business administration students are under legal scrutiny after allegedly performing a dance to a song glorifying slain Naxal leader Madvi Hidma at a government-hosted cultural event.
The performance took place at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Government Hostel for Boys in Vishrantwadi, and a resulting controversy was fueled by a video upload on social media.
Police have charged the students with promoting enmity, while hostel authorities claimed that the song choice was an inadvertent mistake, appealing primarily for its rhythm.
