West Bengal Governor RN Ravi on Wednesday called upon the people to unite in a collective effort to restore the state's historical prominence. Speaking at a Poila Boishakh celebration at Lok Bhavan, he pressed the youth to drive positive changes in economic and educational spheres.
Once a leading economic and intellectual hub, Bengal's stature has waned. Ravi highlighted a sharp decline in per capita income and educational enrollment compared to other states. The state's share in the national economy and the presence of MSMEs are areas of concern, demanding urgent attention.
On Poila Boishakh, a day seen for both reflection and resolution, the governor urged focusing on positivity. He stressed that change must arise from within, as he linked Bengal's potential restoration to India’s broader economic advancements, urging the state not to fall behind in this journey.
