Jaipur's 300th Anniversary: A Celebration of Heritage and Culture

Jaipur is gearing up for its 300th anniversary in 2027 with a year-long celebration prepared by the Rajasthan government, announced Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Founded on November 18, 1727, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur will honor its rich history with a series of culturally significant events.

The planned celebrations, commencing around November this year, aim to highlight Jaipur’s unique architectural marvels like the Hawa Mahal and the City Palace. The city's heritage and intricate designs continue to attract tourists worldwide. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma envisions grand celebrations to commemorate Jaipur's tricentenary.

Known as the 'Pink City' following a visit by Prince Albert Edward in 1878, Jaipur’s urban planning represents a blend of traditional Hindu, Mughal, and Western cultures. In 2019, UNESCO recognized its walled city as a World Heritage Site, underscoring its cultural and architectural significance.
