Hollywood star Ryan Gosling has officially stepped away from an upcoming sci-fi action comedy directed by the celebrated duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, commonly known as Daniels. According to Deadline, scheduling conflicts made it impossible for Gosling to finalize a deal with Universal Pictures, leading to his exit.
The film was slated for release on November 19, 2027, but has hit a scheduling snag. This project follows the success of 'Everything Everywhere All at Once', a critical and commercial hit that bagged seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Daniels.
Kwan and Scheinert, who gained fame with 'Swiss Army Man' and have a production partnership with Jonathan Wang under the Playgrounds banner, are set to produce the film. Meanwhile, Gosling's latest success, 'Project Hail Mary', directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, has already netted USD 300 million globally.
