Goa Remembers: Honoring Manohar Parrikar's Legacy

In a solemn ceremony, Goa Governor P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, along with senior leaders, paid tribute to former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar at his memorial on his death anniversary.

Gathering at Miramar Beach, where Parrikar was laid to rest in 2019, the leaders highlighted his significant role in integrating women into defense training. Governor Raju emphasized Parrikar's advocacy for the induction of girl cadets at the National Defence Academy.

Chief Minister Sawant celebrated Parrikar's enduring impact on Goa's development and his legacy continued by the current government. A portrait of Parrikar was unveiled at the state assembly, underscoring his remarkable tenure as Goa's Chief Minister and as Defence Minister in the national government.
