Temples in Karnataka have initiated preparations to store wooden logs in anticipation of a potential LPG shortage that could disrupt 'Prasada' preparation. The looming crisis, spurred by the Iran-Israel conflict, has heightened concerns among temple managements.
Akhila Karnataka Hindu Temple Archakas Federation president M S Venkatachalaiah confirmed there is no immediate threat, with current LPG reserves expected to last a week. He noted that many temples are resorting to traditional wood-based cooking methods as a precaution.
While the LPG crisis has not yet impacted the mid-day meal programme in schools, the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a major contributor to the programme, reported unaffected operations due to its reliance on steam-based kitchens powered by electricity.
