Assam Chief Minister Reassures No LPG Shortage Amidst West Asia Conflict

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reassured the public that there is no crisis of LPG cylinders in the state, amid concerns due to the conflict in West Asia. Speaking to reporters, Sarma emphasized that the state and central governments are vigilantly monitoring gas supplies to prevent any shortage.

Highlighting India's proactive approach, the Chief Minister stated that the country has facilitated gas imports from 40 nations, including increased shipments from Russia. This strategy echoes previous efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic when national coordination ensured steady oxygen supplies.

Indian Oil Corp, a major supplier in Northeast India, confirmed their preparedness and capability to meet demand. Operating at full capacity, their nine bottling plants in the region are adequately stocked to supply the essential fuel without interruption.
