In a significant legal decision, the Supreme Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to renowned folk singer Neha Singh Rathore. This decision comes after a legal battle involving a contentious social media post about last year's Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals.
The bench, consisting of Justices JK Maheshwari and AS Chandurkar, acknowledged Rathore's cooperation with the authorities and granted her relief. The court has instructed Rathore to continue cooperating with the ongoing investigation, highlighting the case's sensitivity and high-profile nature.
The controversy centers around allegations that Rathore's post targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP. The post led to an FIR accusing her of inciting communal tension. However, Rathore contends that the accusations are baseless and politically motivated.
