In a spirited celebration of International Women's Day, the Fit India Movement inaugurated a three-day carnival at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The event, titled 'Strong Women, Strong Nation,' saw over 500 women from India's armed forces and security services engage in a series of fitness and sports activities, underscoring the power of women in leadership roles.
Highlighting the event were insights from notable figures such as Paralympic medallist Preeti Pal and nutritionist Nidhi Nigam, who spoke passionately about fitness and women's empowerment. They were joined by other experts from diverse fields, including yoga, meditation, and entrepreneurship, each contributing a unique perspective on holistic wellness.
The festivities began with an invigorating yoga session, followed by Zumba workouts, promoting mindfulness and camaraderie. The Sisters' League served as the event's centerpiece, encouraging friendly competition through activities like football shootouts and tug of war, further cementing the bond of sisterhood through sport.
