Sunny Deol's Upcoming Film 'Lahore 1947' Teases Title Change and Star-Studded Release

Actor Sunny Deol is riding high on the success of 'Border 2' and has a slew of upcoming projects, including 'Lahore 1947' with Rajkumar Santoshi. In a recent interview, Deol hinted that the film's title might change, although it remains inspired by an acclaimed stage play and will launch around India’s Independence Day.

The period drama, set to hit the screens on August 13, 2026, marks the first collaboration between Sunny Deol, director Rajkumar Santoshi, and producer Aamir Khan. The film is backed by Aamir Khan Productions and promises a big festive release throughout India.

With a stellar cast featuring Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol alongside Sunny Deol, 'Lahore 1947' also boasts music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Aamir Khan highlighted the project's special place in Dharamji's heart, expressing happiness that he could see the film come to life.
