Maharashtra's Namo Tourism Centres: A New Era in Heritage Tours
The Maharashtra government has approved the creation of Namo Tourism Information and Facility Centres at four key heritage forts to enhance tourism infrastructure. With an initial budget of Rs 20 crore, these centres aim to provide modern facilities and promote local culture, marking a significant step in regional tourism development.

The Maharashtra government has green-lit a pioneering initiative to establish four 'Namo Tourism Information and Facility Centres' at prime heritage forts in the state to revamp tourism infrastructure and provide up-to-date amenities for visitors.
Unveiled under the Regional Tourism Development Scheme for 2025-26, these centres will be set up at Raigad, Pratapgad, Shivneri, and Salher forts. The scheme, backed by Rs 20 crore, initially releases Rs 5 crore for implementation by the Directorate of Tourism.
Each Namo centre will serve as a comprehensive information and service hub highlighting the historical significance of each site, integrating sustainable design elements, and promoting local art and culture.
