The 9th edition of the Mahindra Kabira Festival is set to return to the ghats of Varanasi from December 19. This festival celebrates the legacy of the 15th-century mystic poet Kabir through a blend of music, thought, and cultural expression.
The festival, organized by Mahindra Group in collaboration with Teamwork Arts, will open with a Ganga aarti at the historic Guleria Kothi. The event will feature insights from Umesh Kabir on Kabir's philosophy, followed by a qawwali performance by the Kumaon-based ensemble, Rehmat-e-Nusrat.
Throughout the festival, attendees will be treated to a variety of performances, from classical music by Hidayat Husain Khan and Rahul Deshpande to contemporary fusion by the Aditya Prakash Ensemble and Agam. The festival aims to make Kabir accessible to a global audience, celebrating his message of unity and diversity through diverse cultural forms.
