Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced intentions to rename Mustafabad village in Lakhimpur Kheri district to 'Kabirdham,' aiming to restore its connection to the renowned Sant Kabir. Adityanath stated the renaming initiative is consistent with his government's ongoing efforts to reclaim places' historical and cultural identities, previously altered by earlier rulers.

Addressing the Smriti Mahotsav Mela 2025, Adityanath criticized the opposition, accusing them of 'hypocrisy' in altering place names under secularism's pretext. The CM highlighted his administration's focus on rejuvenating sites with cultural and religious importance, contrasting past priorities of funding graveyard walls.

Adityanath's tenure has witnessed significant renaming efforts, including cities like Prayagraj and Ayodhya. New infrastructure and development, particularly in areas like Lakhimpur Kheri, are part of these initiatives, promising enhanced tourism and local growth. The CM emphasized the intent to preserve India's spiritual and cultural heritage through these efforts.
