Hamirpur district bustled with activity as residents celebrated the 51st birthday of local MP and former Union minister Anurag Thakur with various events, including a blood donation camp.
Born in Samirpur, Thakur is the elder son of ex-chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. Celebrations at Gandhi Chowk started with a Mahila Sangeet program under BJP District Mahila Morcha's Archana Chauhan, featuring vibrant folk songs that resonated through the streets.
In line with Thakur's Vocal for 'Local' campaign, local self-help groups showcased homegrown products. An Anurag Thakur-sponsored health check-up camp served over 100 people. Despite limited capacity, 51 units of blood were successfully donated. The event saw participation from BJP leaders, with heartfelt wishes from HP BJP chief Rajeev Bindal and other senior leaders.
