The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department in Himachal Pradesh has announced a significant amendment requiring prior permission for constructions on plots exceeding 1,000 square meters in rural areas. This change, effective as of August 1, was highlighted by Hamirpur's Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh.
Under the Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Act of 1977, the TCP Department has always mandated permissions for any construction within notified planning areas. However, this requirement has now been extended to rural areas as well.
Singh urged those planning large construction projects in rural Hamirpur to secure the necessary approvals to prevent future complications. He also instructed officials to ensure compliance with this amendment in their respective areas.
