Mamata Banerjee's Four-Decade Kali Puja Ritual at Kalighat
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee continued her tradition of performing Kali Puja at her Kalighat residence, a ritual she has observed for over 40 years. The celebration included her nephew Abhishek Banerjee participating in a yagna and a song she composed for the occasion.

West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee maintained her longstanding tradition of performing Kali Puja at her Kalighat residence, a practice she's upheld for more than four decades, according to senior Trinamool Congress leaders.
Wearing a cotton saree, Banerjee engaged in the puja rituals while her nephew and TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee took part in a yagna before the goddess's idol. Large crowds gathered outside her home, drawn by the festive atmosphere and the chance to witness the celebrations.
In addition to performing puja, Banerjee extended greetings on Kali Puja and Deepavali via social media, expressing hope for peace and light. She also shared a song she had written and composed, performed by renowned singer Sreeradha Bandopadhyay. Banerjee prepared the 'bhog' offering and welcomed a range of guests, from political colleagues to journalists and public attendees.
