Variety reports that Danish-Chinese filmmaker Amanda Renai Curdt-Christiansen is crafting the screenplay. This screenplay is part of her practice-based PhD research at the UK's De Montfort University. The project has the backing of the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council and is being developed in collaboration with the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation.
Curdt-Christiansen noted how the demand for meaningful stories is increasing globally, referencing the current political climate. Russell's dedication to pacifism, anti-imperialism, and humanitarian values makes this biopic timely and potentially impactful across diverse cultures.
