Record Surge of Devotees as Chardham Yatra Peaks

The Chardham Yatra, a revered pilgrimage in India, has seen an unprecedented turnout this year as a record-breaking 16.56 lakh devotees visited Kedarnath Dham. The pilgrimage, marred by monsoon disruptions, gained momentum with locals and officials ensuring a safe journey for devotees despite adverse weather conditions.

Data from the yatra revealed that on a single day, close to 19,731 pilgrims visited the sacred sites including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Hemkund Sahib. The pilgrimage had suffered due to a series of natural disasters, threatening to derail the annual event but eventually regained pace.

With the season gradually coming to an end, experts predict the number of pilgrims could potentially reach the 50 lakh mark. Temples are scheduled to begin closing after Diwali, marking the conclusion of this year's yatra, which stands testament to the devotees' undeterred enthusiasm and faith.
