On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged the public to partake in the 'Guru Charan Yatra,' a spiritual pilgrimage departing from New Delhi and heading to Gurudwara Patna Sahib in Bihar. The Prime Minister expressed hopes that the journey would reinforce individuals' bonds with the revered teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
In a message on platform X, Modi invited individuals residing along the yatra's path to witness the sacred 'Jore Sahib,' the cherished sandals of Guru Gobind Singh and his wife, Mata Sahib Kaur. The Charan Suhawa Yatra will showcase these holy relics, in the care of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri's family for over three centuries, at multiple stops for Sangat Darshan.
The ceremonial activities kicked off with Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri's family offering 'ardas' before transferring the Jore Sahib to the Panth. Devotees can witness the relics at Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib, New Delhi, before the yatra embarks on October 23, eventually concluding at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, on November 1. The procession plans to include several significant stops, adhering to Sikh spiritual protocol and offering significant opportunities for community engagement. This initiative is highly anticipated by the global Sikh diaspora for its deep spiritual significance.
