Twenty-six candidates have achieved a remarkable feat by securing a perfect 100 NTA score in the JEE-Main 2026, according to data released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This marks an increase from the 24 candidates who reached the same pinnacle in 2025.

In the first edition of this crucial engineering entrance exam, over 13 lakh candidates appeared in January, followed by more than 10 lakh in the second edition held in April. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana emerged as the frontrunners, each contributing five top scorers, while other states like Rajasthan and Delhi also featured prominently.

The NTA score represents a normalised metric based on candidates' relative performance across various shifts. However, notable is the continued absence of candidates from SC and ST categories among the top percentile achievers, highlighting persistent disparities. The exam serves a crucial role in determining entry into top engineering institutions across India.
