NEET-UG Deadline Extended: Relief for Kashmir Aspirants Amid Internet Snags

The Jammu and Kashmir government has applauded the extension of the NEET-UG application deadline, a move anticipated to benefit students disrupted by internet restrictions. The extension, effective until March 11, follows a request by Sakeena Itoo, the regional Health and Medical Education Minister.

In light of recent internet throttling in Kashmir, Itoo had appealed to Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for an extension to aid students struggling to register. The National Testing Agency responded by adjusting the deadline, with submissions accepted until 9 pm on March 11 and fee payments until 11.50 pm the same day.

The delayed deadline gives aspiring medical students, particularly in the Kashmir Valley, the chance to overcome submission challenges caused by patchy internet. Itoo counseled candidates to finalize their applications early, underscoring a preventive approach against technical difficulties as high-speed internet resumed recently following regional unrest.
