FedEx Revolutionizes Indian Intra-City Deliveries with Groundbreaking Drone Trials

FedEx has achieved a breakthrough by completing India's first intra-city drone delivery flight trials in Bengaluru. This landmark initiative was carried out in partnership with IIT-Madras under the FedEx SMART Centre's research framework.

The trials established that an aerial route of 39-42 km could replace a 53-km road journey, reducing one-way transit time from over an hour to just 21 minutes. This signifies a transformative step in time-critical logistics.

Nitin Navneet Tatiwala from FedEx highlights the program's role in advancing research on air cargo optimization and creating sustainable supply chain systems. Collaborations with academia, industry, and policymakers emphasize future-ready logistics solutions.
