Mumbai Airport's Pre-Monsoon Maintenance Shutdown

Mumbai airport's flight operations are set to be temporarily halted for six hours on May 7, as part of the annual pre-monsoon maintenance of its runways. The airport's operator, MIAL, announced that both runways, 09/27 and 14/32, will be closed from 11 am to 5 pm.

This crucial maintenance work aims to preserve the integrity and safety of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport's expansive 1,033-acre airside infrastructure. Stakeholders have been coordinating for six months to help airlines adjust their flight schedules well in advance.

The maintenance involves inspecting runway surfaces for potential issues and taking preventive measures, utilizing modern machinery to ensure a swift and thorough process within the designated time frame, thereby guaranteeing secure landings and take-offs during the upcoming monsoon season.
