Naidu Spearheads Strategic Water Management Plans
Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to devise an efficient action plan for utilizing Godavari river water following the completion of the Polavaram project, while reviewing multiple irrigation schemes. He proposed making the Polavaram Project a tourist hub and pushed for accelerated progress on several other water-related projects.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken significant steps to ensure efficient water management across the state. On Wednesday, he directed officials to develop a detailed action plan for utilising the Godavari river water, post the completion of the Polavaram Project.
During a review of ongoing irrigation initiatives, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of channeling water from the project’s main canals into reservoirs to satisfy both agricultural and residential demands. Projects under scrutiny included Veligonda, Handri–Neeva Sujala Sravanthi, and others aimed at groundwater enhancement.
In addition to setting deadlines for critical projects like Vamsadhara–Nagavali, Naidu also envisioned turning the Polavaram Project into a tourism center, complete with hotels and shopping centers. With a focus on economic and environmental benefits, he urged swift progress in infrastructural developments.
