Mumbai, India – In a remarkable gesture of commitment to public welfare, Municipal Councillor Tajinder Singh Tiwana has vowed to donate his entire salary and allowances for the next five years to the Mayor's Fund. This unprecedented move underscores Tiwana's dedication to civic service and his intent to address the needs of Mumbai's citizens.
Elected from Ward 47 in the recent Municipal Corporation elections, Tiwana has formally requested Hon'ble Mayor Smt. Ritu Tawde to allocate his earnings toward public welfare initiatives. He emphasized, “Public service is a commitment. As a Nagar Sevak, I am committed to ensuring that support reaches even the most marginalized members of society. This is why I am channeling my earnings to aid the Mayor's Fund.”
The salary and allowances, estimated between ₹25,000-₹35,000 monthly, will be directed to assist those requiring medical aid and facing financial emergencies. Tiwana's initiative not only aims to bolster public welfare across Mumbai but also sets a profound example of altruism and dedication in governance.
