Nepal Airlines is set to conduct special flights over the next three days to aid in repatriating Nepali citizens stranded in Gulf countries amidst ongoing conflicts. These flights come as a relief to many nationals who have been unable to return home due to suspended services since February 28.
This strategic response was formulated during a meeting involving high-ranking officials from Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and Nepal Airlines. The primary focus was to discuss methods for facilitating the smooth travel of Nepalese citizens and ensuring continued air connectivity in the war-stricken region.
According to a statement, the first flight is scheduled for departure to Dubai and will return to Kathmandu early on Saturday. A subsequent flight to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is also planned, with these operations demonstrating Nepal's commitment to its citizens' safe return from the Gulf amidst growing regional tensions.
