Tragic Collision: Over 40 Injured in West Bengal Bus-Truck Crash
A bus-truck collision in West Bengal's Murshidabad district left over 40 people injured. The incident occurred on NH 12 near Nabagram as they returned from a Chief Minister's event. A devastating collision between a bus and a truck injured over 40 individuals in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, officials reported on Wednesday. The incident unfolded near Pomia in Nabagram along National Highway 12 as attendees were departing a public meeting led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Bholadanga ground.
Ambulances quickly arrived from Shibpur toll plaza, transporting the injured to Palsonda Primary Health Centre where they received immediate medical attention. A health department official confirmed that four severely injured people were referred to Berhampore Medical College and Hospital for specialized treatment.
The police, whose investigation is ongoing, indicated that some of the injuries are critical. Authorities have registered a case to determine whether factors like speeding or negligence were involved in the crash, according to a senior police officer.
