A major fire erupted at the Gopi Knitting textile factory in Surat on Wednesday, with efforts underway to contain the blaze, officials confirmed. The incident, occurring at Hojiwala Industries in the Sachin industrial area, fortunately reported no injuries.
The rapid spread of the flames was fueled by the factory’s stockpile of fabrics and nylon materials, prompting the fire department to issue a 'major' call and dispatch over a dozen fire tenders to the scene.
Officials have implemented precautionary measures to prevent the fire from reaching neighboring factories, although the cause remains unknown and the fire caused substantial damage to the facility.
