Indian Oil Tanker Navigates Conflict Zone to Reach Mundra Port
The Indian-flagged oil tanker Jag Laadki has successfully reached Mundra port in Gujarat from Fujairah in the UAE, adding to the vessels transiting the conflict-hit zone. The Indian-flagged oil tanker, Jag Laadki, has reached Mundra port in Gujarat after departing from Fujairah in the UAE, despite an attack on the terminal. This marks the fourth vessel to transit the conflict-hit zone successfully, according to shipping sources.
Jag Laadki carried 80,886 tonnes of crude oil and followed the LPG tanker Shivalik, which docked earlier at Adani group's Mundra port. The port ensured the vessel's safety and coordinated its journey to safeguard India's energy supply lines, sources revealed.
The deployment was part of a broader effort in navigating 28 Indian-flagged vessels caught in the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions in West Asia. Recent weeks saw two LPG carriers and the gasoline-carrying tanker, Jag Prakash, safely cross the area, as India seeks alternative energy sources amid supply cuts.
