On Wednesday, Kempegowda International Airport experienced significant disruptions as 21 flights were cancelled amid airspace restrictions affecting services to West Asian destinations. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the managing authority of the airport, confirmed these cancellations.
According to a statement released by BIAL, the airspace restrictions on March 11, 2026, led to the cancellation of 11 arrival flights and 10 departure flights. This disruption primarily targeted flights operating on key international routes.
The impacted destinations included major West Asian hubs such as Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Dubai, and Doha, where travelers faced considerable inconvenience due to the imposed airspace curbs. BIAL is working to alleviate the situation and provide assistance to affected passengers.
