A severe road accident on the Jalandhar-Pathankot national highway claimed the lives of three individuals, including a mother and her teenage son. The tragic incident occurred late Monday night when the family's Ertiga vehicle slammed into a parked SUV, resulting in a dramatic sequence of events.
The deceased have been identified as Shabnam Saini, aged 48, her 18-year-old son Tushant, and 25-year-old Rahul, who was inside the parked SUV. The collision, near the Cholang toll plaza, was so impactful that it caused the SUV to overturn and the Ertiga to sustain major damage, police reported.
Police Officer Gurinderjit Singh Nagra noted that the accident likely resulted from the Ertiga going out of control. William, an occupant of the SUV, suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a local health center. Authorities continue to investigate what led up to this tragic event.
