BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has called on Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to scrap the controversial Bengaluru tunnel road project. Surya emphasized the need to prioritize public transport over vehicle-centric initiatives.
Surya criticized the project as a futile investment, citing its staggering Rs 43,000 crore cost, which he claims would only exacerbate Bengaluru's traffic issues without providing feasible solutions.
He urged that funds should instead be directed toward expanding Metro Rail, Suburban Rail, trams, and buses, pointing out that these alternatives would serve significantly more people per hour.
