Anticipating the annual Diwali-Chhath surge, the North Eastern Railway has drawn from its Mahakumbh experiences to handle the holiday crowd expected to traverse through the Lucknow Division. Special strategies, including additional trains and comfortable holding zones, have been implemented to accommodate over one crore passengers.

Divisional Railway Manager Gaurav Agarwal detailed measures such as digitized scheduling updates, mobile ticketing counters, and strategic platform allocations to ease travel for people from Purvanchal, Bihar, West Bengal, and the North-East. The division has also temporarily reduced freight to prioritize passenger trains.

Focusing on passenger comfort and efficiency, nearly 15,000 personnel are working to ensure smooth operations. Agarwal highlighted continued faith in rail travel despite alternative modes, emphasizing cost-effectiveness and convenience as key factors during peak seasons.
