Airtel Africa's Profit Surge Unveiled Amid IPO Preparations
Airtel Africa reported a substantial increase in net profit to USD 177 million for the quarter ending September, up from USD 24 million the previous year. The company's revenue also grew by 40.4%, alongside its mobile money platform growth. An IPO is planned for the first half of 2026.

Telecom giant Airtel Africa has announced a significant upswing in their net profit, reaching USD 177 million in the quarter ending September. This marks a stratospheric rise from the USD 24 million posted in the same quarter last year, underscoring the company's robust financial health ahead of its anticipated public offering.
The firm's revenue also saw a considerable increase, climbing from USD 1,214 million in Q2 FY25 to USD 1,567 million in Q2 FY26, a 40.4% boost. This growth trajectory is paralleled by a 10.7% sequential rise in revenue, marking a strong financial quarter for the company.
CEO Sunil Taldar highlighted the impressive growth of Airtel Money, with the customer base nearing 50 million and the annualized total processed value approaching USD 200 billion. Airtel Africa's capex guidance for FY26 has also been upped to USD 875-900 million, as they gear up for a public listing in early 2026.
