Germany and India Forge Stronger Renewable Energy Ties at Chennai Wind Fair

Johann Saathoff, the German Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, is set to travel to India with a business delegation. The visit, from October 29 to November 1, will open the country's largest international wind energy trade fair in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This development is part of efforts to strengthen ties between Indian and German companies in the renewable energy sector, enhancing investment opportunities.
India's ambitious renewable energy targets present significant opportunities for German businesses aiming to expand global partnerships. Saathoff's delegation will commence engagements in Chennai on October 29, holding discussions with Indian firms and associations in the wind energy sector. The following day, he is set to inaugurate the Indian wind energy fair, alongside Indian government and business representatives.
Saathoff's visit will continue to New Delhi on October 31, where discussions with Indian companies, government officials, and associations will focus on solar and bioenergy sectors, energy storage, and skilled labor. Germany is committed to supporting India's 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030, emphasizing the need for cooperative engineering and manufacturing in building resilient global supply chains.
