The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the leading body for chartered accountants, has announced a new initiative to offer free advisory services to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This move aims to assist MSMEs dealing with compliance and financial issues.
The announcement comes at a critical time, as high US tariffs and global trade uncertainties continue to affect India's MSME sector adversely. The ICAI's initiative includes a clinic available at approximately 183 branches, aligning with the Viksit Bharat vision.
ICAI President Charanjot Singh Nanda emphasized the initiative's goal to empower MSMEs and mentioned that the institute might also act as a credit-matching service to help them find funding opportunities. The services provided will address financial, compliance, and credit score improvement issues.
