Northern Railways is enhancing connectivity for passengers traveling between Katra and Srinagar by introducing an additional stop for the Vande Bharat Express at Reasi station starting October 29. Officials state this change is in response to local demand for more stops to better serve regional commuters.

The semi-high-speed train, previously stopping only at Banihal between Katra and Srinagar, will now also halt at Reasi, allowing for a two-minute stop in both directions. Railway officials are conducting this on an experimental basis and plan to review the effectiveness of this stoppage after five months based on ticket sales data.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Vande Bharat service on June 6, marking a significant leap in transport between the Kashmir valley and Jammu. This additional stop at Reasi reflects the railway's commitment to improving passenger convenience and enhancing regional connectivity.
