Maharashtra is taking concrete steps to safeguard children in the digital world by assembling an expert task force, announced IT Minister Ashish Shelar. This move follows increasing concerns over unregulated internet and social media use among minors.

The task force, led by the state's IT department, will delve into various aspects of children's digital engagements. The minister mentioned that this initiative is driven by rising demands from parents and social organizations to impose screen-time limits and other controls.

Complaints regarding the adverse effects of extended screen exposure on children have prompted this action. The expert panel will assess national and global policies to propose substantial safety measures, aiming to fortify child safety and responsible technology use.
