Escalating Drone Warfare: No Russian Region Safe

In a stark warning, a senior Russian security official emphasized the growing threat posed by Ukrainian drones to Russian territories. The advancement in drone production means no Russian region can be deemed safe from potential attacks.
Sergei Shoigu, Russia's Security Council secretary and former defense minister, shared alarming statistics during a meeting in Yekaterinburg. Ukrainian sabotage attacks on Russia surged by 40% in 2025, totaling 1,830 incidents, according to Shoigu, as reported by the TASS news agency.
Moscow's mayor reported that air defense systems effectively thwarted a significant drone attack on the capital, downing 250 drones over the weekend. The Russian Defense Ministry followed up, stating that 421 Ukrainian drones were intercepted in just 24 hours, underscoring the intense ongoing conflict.
