Pilgrim Surge Sparks Infrastructure Overhaul in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the growth in the number of pilgrims visiting religious sites in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, attributing this to enhanced infrastructure and burgeoning public faith. This influx presents both an opportunity and a challenge for the state government.

During an event where he distributed Rs 1 lakh to each of 555 Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrims, Adityanath noted that resources, previously limited, have significantly improved. He cited figures like 164 crore pilgrims visiting in 2025, emphasizing ongoing efforts to improve facilities for pilgrims, including connectivity and amenities.

The Chief Minister underscored the importance of prioritizing devotion in religious tourism, highlighting developments such as the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Ghaziabad, and committed to working with the Centre to address medical and other facilities for pilgrims.
